Securing future: Revenue Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao administering polio drops to a child at New Colony Satya Sai mandir in Srikakulam on Sunday.
Minister for Panchayat Raj Botcha Satyanarayana on Sunday participated in a number of inaugurations and foundation stone laying functions in various mandals besides second phase of pulse polio programme at Gotlam PHC in Bondapalli mandal.
After administering polio drops to a child below five years of age, he appealed to parents to strive for polio-free society.
Collector G. Ram Narayana Reddy, who accompanied the Minister, said that 2.64 lakh children would be immunised during the three-day programme.
Later, the Minister laid the foundation stone for Rs. 25-lakh District Mahila Samakhya building at TTDC.
He said that the samakhya would be provided accommodation in panchayat buildings wherever needed.
He also laid the stone for DWMA administrative and training building at a cost of Rs. 1 crore at Nellimarla, distributed assets worth Rs. 56.70 lakhs to 88 Scheduled Caste beneficiaries at Cheepurupalli High School.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the Rosaiah Government would continue the welfare schemes launched by late chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy.
He said that the weeding of bogus ration cards was being done to issue fresh cards to the eligible in future and added that the opposition parties were only misleading people on the issue.
Mr. Satyanarayana also inaugurated roads laid under PMGSY at K.Kothavalasa in Dattirajeru mandal and P.S.R. Puram in Gajapathinagaram mandal and inaugurated PHC building at Marupalli in the same mandal.
